MoCo Moms is community resource for Moultrie County moms to keep their kids active in our community and informed of local resources. Found by Melissa Krieger, owner of Sullivan Dance Studio, as an outreach project! Powered by every day super moms in Moultrie County raising their children energetically involved in our hometown programs & services!
Melissa Krieger - Founder
Melissa Krieger grew up in the Sullivan community and is currently raising her 3 children here. She prioritizes taking her girls to local events and participating in local activities to keep them active and engaged in the community. As the owner of Sullivan Dance Studio, kids in our community have always been her #1 priority. She gets that for her mom, Sue Weaver - Director of the Sullivan Civic Center for 20+ years. Two years ago, Melissa reached out to the YMCA and helped bring Sullivan soccer to life. Ever since then, she's had an idea for something like MoCo Moms spinning around in her busy brain. She had previous involvement with the Decatur's Moms Group through her work in Decatur Park District in her earlier work years. Through local research she was inspired by chambanamoms.com. Our area might be small, but our communities have a lot to offer. She's always believed that it's our responsibility to bring more to our community, so why not something like this for Moultrie County and surrounding counties? Mom life is busy and hard to keep up with everything. We all get by with a little help from our friends. She doesn't ever want anyone to experience being that mom that missed the sign ups or had no clue it was offered until registration was closed. She hopes to make MoCo Moms can be the convenient one stop shop to find out what's going on and encouraging more active participation from everyone in our communities!
Elizabeth Owens - Coordinator / Editor
Elizabeth Owens is a graduate of Sullivan High School and is currently attending Clemson University. When home in Sullivan, she is Melissa's super nanny! So of course, Melissa roped her into helping out with this project! While not in class, Elizabeth dedicates her time to MoCo Moms by editing the website, keeping the calendar up to date, event planning, & community outreach. She is so excited to be apart of the MoCo Moms team!
